History
The story of
Riverview
Riverview's history traces to the 1850s when settlers established homesteads along the Alafia River. The community was a center for cattle ranching and phosphate mining through the early 20th century. Growth was modest until the 2000s, when the extension of the Selmon Expressway and the development of large master-planned communities like FishHawk Ranch and Boyette Springs transformed the area. Riverview has been one of Florida's fastest-growing communities for over a decade, adding new schools, parks, and commercial corridors at a rapid pace.
